Silver ----

Silver will be in recovery mode in next week due to bailout package concern as it may boost the euro zone in coming days. In domestic front below 55400, Silver prices may correct to 53100 levels. Else, we can look forward the prices reaching 58100 levels.

Silver in COMEX is trading in-between 100 & 200-day moving day averages. After testing the $35 levels, prices are hovering near $33.40 - showing that the initial resistance level is $33. Sustainability of prices above $35 may rebound the prices in the ranges of $36-$37. Crucial resistance level is $37 in international market.

Gold ----

Gold prices are trading above 100 days & 50 days moving averages and are continuously approaching upward levels. Below 27930 levels, prices may correct to 27400 levels. MACD signal indicates the positive direction in the prices for the next week. Breaking of 28620 levels may show the rally in the prices up to 28740 in domestic front.

In COMEX Gold prices are hovering around $1722 showing the initial resistance level of $1764, major resistance level is expected to be at $1781. In COMEX Prices are trading above 100-day moving average. Sustainability of prices above $1710 may recover the prices to $1770. Support levels are $1700 and $1670.

Crude Oil ----

Crude prices are anticipating sideways up for this week amid global oil demand concern after the Greece bailout concern and increase in China’s oil import.

Oil prices are trading in-between 200 &100-day moving averages and hovering near 100-day moving average. We can look forward to the prices being in recovery mode in near term. Breakout of 4860 levels may show little bit correction in the prices. Else' sustainability of prices above 4860 may recover the prices to 5000 levels in near term. Gold & Silver enjoying some support from safe-haven demand as issues in Eurozone once again weigh on investors' minds. The Greek Prime Minster appears to be struggling to garner political support for the required austerity measures that would secure extra funding from international lenders. In addition, no clear agreement has been forthcoming on either private or official sector involvement in a Greek debt restructuring. Despite the Eurozone concerns, the euro has been relatively stable against the dollar, which has allowed the precious metals to benefit from safe-haven interest without too much hindrance from a strengthening dollar.

Base Metals complex lost some ground on Thursday as US job cuts data cemented the disappointing ADP employment survey and manufacturing data of the previous day. Challenger data revealed that job cuts rose 38.8% y/y in January, up from the 30.6% y/y increase in December. In addition, a poor PMI non-manufacturing reading for China dented the optimism over the manufacturing gauge released earlier in the week. Growth in the services industry slowed down (52.8 in January compared to 55.0 in December) raising concerns that the Chinese economy continues to lose momentum. We agree with this thinking, and maintain that it is too early to expect real demand for industrial metals to improve and rallies to be sustainable.

Crude oil market came under considerable pressure yesterday, in particular the WTI market. Total nonfarm payroll employment rose by 242,000 in January, and the unemployment rate decreased to 8.2 percent, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. Job growth was widespread in the private sector, with large employment gains in professional and business services, leisure and hospitality, and manufacturing. Government employment changed little over the month. Oil products fared much worse than Brent, resulting in weaker product cracks and refining margins, driven by bearish US oil inventory data on Wednesday as well as the bearish product inventory data in Europe. The Brent structure, however, was firmer Thursday as the physical crude market remains tight outside the US.

Gold advanced to the highest level ineight weeks, gaining along side equities and other commodities, as global manufacturing improved, weakening the dollar and boost ingdemand for alternative investments.
Gold & Silver activity has been neither here nor there, as the dollar remains quite stable, keeping prices relatively range bound. We don't anticipate much to change later today, with no significant data scheduled for release and investors cautious in equity markets.
The latest news on the industrial action taking place at Impala Platinum's Rustenburg mine (the world's largest platinum mine) is that a total of approximately 17,100 workers have been dismissed. The company said they would begin the process of rehiring employees who wish to reapply for the jobs in due course. The protracted nature of this work stoppage should provide PGM prices with continued support into next week.
Base metals came under selling pressure as the optimism over yesterday's PMI reading faded as the data showed house prices falling. Construction in China accounts for a large source of demand for copper, aluminium and zinc, and growth in this sector continues to decline, with the most recent house price data confirming the trend. In our view, it is too early to expect real demand for industrial metals to improve and rallies to be sustainable.
Looking at copper, the fall in LME inventories continues to gather momentum - we've seen a 11.4% m/m drop in January. Most of the cancellations are coming from the US. While the US economy does appear to be improving, the pace of this improvement has been extremely slow, so we are sceptical that this dramatic drop in inventories signals a marked increase in real demand.
Crude oil prices were choppy yesterday, swung by macroeconomic data releases and the weekly US DOE oil inventory report. Net for the day, WTI fell 87c/bbl, while Brent rose 58c/bbl. Aligned with our expectation, product cracks weakened further, in particularly distillates, following sizable inventory builds for oil products in the US. Similar to moves to flat prices, term structures in WTI and Brent also diverged as WTI structure weakened slightly and Brent structure rallied.
The DOE reported US weekly oil inventory changes for crude/gasoline/distillates at +4.2/+3.0/-0.1mb w/w. Crude inventories at Cushing rose by 1.5mbbl, which has put considerable pressure on the WTI structure as well as the flat price. The sizable build in crude inventories appeared to be contradictory to broadly flat levels for crude imports, refinery run rates and domestic production. Nevertheless, the build weighs on prices. The implied demand for both gasoline and distillates were reported to have fallen by 131kbd and 150kbd respectively, which are likely to have been exaggerated on the back of sharp increase in product imports.

Silver was poised for the best monthly start to a year since 1983. Spot gold gained 0.4 percent to $1,736.81 after touching a seven-week high of $1,740.01 on Jan.27. It’s climbed 11 percent this month, the best advance since August. Silver rose 0.5 percent to $33.675 an ounce, 21 percent higher this month.

Copper fell, trimming the first monthly gain since October, with a muted response from the Chinese market to the recent rally. Gold today declined for the first time in three days as a rally to a six- week high spurred some investors to sell the metal amid lower demand from Asia. The gold fell USD 8.56, or 0.5 per cent, to USD 1,668.61 an ounce after reaching USD 1,681.40 yesterday amid concern about Europe's debt crisis and as the European Union ban on imports of oil from Iran as part of measures to increase the pressure on its nuclear program.

Silver for immediate delivery fell 0.6 per cent to USD 32.25 an ounce after reaching USD 32.68 yesterday, the most since December 8.The metal climbed 10 per cent in 2011, an eleventh consecutive annual gain, as investors sought to diversify from equities and some currencies.
Copper –
Copper advanced to the highest level in more than four months on dwindling stockpiles and before the Federal Reserve Open Market Committee releases interest-rate forecasts for the first time. Three-month copper gained as much as 1.2 percent to $8,455.15 per metric ton, the highest price since Sept. 19, on the London Metal Exchange and traded at $8,415 .
Crude Oil –
Oil dropped as a stalemate between European policy makers and Greek bondholders over debt relief increased concern that the European credit crisis will spread. Crude oil for March delivery fell 67 cents, or 0.7 percent, to $98.90 a barrel at New York Mercantile Exchange. The contract slipped as much as $1.33 to $98.35.

Natural gas prices fell to levels not seen in a decade after a government report showed weak demand and high supplies. The price of natural gas slid 6.1 percent to $2.321 per 1,000 cubic feet Thursday after the Energy Department said the nation's sup-plies were 21 percent above the five-year average. It's the lowest price since February of 2002. Supplies have been growing in recent years as drillers have learned to use a controversial drilling technology called fracking to tap vast reserves of natural gas trapped in shale formations under several states. Extreme weather during the last two summers and winters pushed demand for the fuel higher and kept prices from falling sharply.

Spot Gold prices increased 0.2 percent, taking cues from dollar weakness and overall stable global market sentiments. Prices touched an intra-day high of $1689.74/oz and trading around $1663.19/oz today. On the MCX, prices increased by 0.1 percent today and were hovering around Rs.27511/10gms.

Weakness in the U.S. dollar helped lift crude oil prices. The dollar index, which tracks the performance of the greenback versus a basket of six other major currencies, gave back 0.35% to trade at 80.29.

GOLD: Feb 2012

Dollar Index moved due to Euro zone worries and made a 52-week high of 81.60. Strength of Dollar and fresh up side break out turned out to be a bad news of Commodity market and panic on selling cannot be ruled out.

Last week, some volatility was seen, which resulted in it making a low of 27270 and high of 27944, and finally closed at 27764. Overall short-term trend is positive... and decline to buy side as long as holds 27400-27100, higher-level stiff resistance at 28250-28300 and fresh buying only above that level. Reversal to sell side.

Today: As Euro hit its lowest level since Sept. 2010 against dollar and hit an 11-year low against yen, further selling pressure likely to continue. Consider resistance at 27700-27750 and support at 26500.

SILVER - March 2012

As mentioned last week, 53400-54000 are a stiff resistance and reversal was seen, and finally it made a low of 51100 and managed to close below 53000. Now in this week, consider resistance at 52000-52500, reversal to sell side... As long as below 54400, downside target... 45100 cannot be ruled out.

COPPER - FEB 2012

Copper prices declined due to a firm dollar, an investor caution over the Euro zone sovereign debt crisis, and worries about growth in the major metal consumer China.

Last week it was mentioned that above 408, it will move up to 415, thereafter again a downslide was seen and made a low of 398.50. In this week, consider resistance at 410-415 and reversal to sell side.
